I had a quick look using the search function, but can't find the answer to my question, so thought I'd ask here.

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child, so need to look at getting a second car seat. My mother in law has offered to buy Raistlin a new car seat for his birthday, as his current one is fast approaching it's 10th year, thus will no longer be standard-safe (it's a family hand-me-down).

Now my question is what type of seats do I get. I was thinking about getting a convertible newborn-4 year old seat now and then when the baby is here getting a child-booster seat for Raistlin and give the convertible to the baby. I have tried looking around for the types that are available, but am finding it overwhelming.

I did find the IGC GoSafe Cleo Convertible (Newborn-18kg) was highly rated and the IFA Vario Booster (14kg-26kg) for the booster seat was also, but I can't find any pictures of them or proper reviews. Has anyone used these, or know anything about them?

    Thanks for your time.

not sure about those brands that you mentioned..but we have a "safe and sound maxi rider" for my dd..they go from 8-26kgs...but have a five point harness, so they are safer than a booster seat which just uses the adult seat belt. once they are too big for the 5 point harness, they can be used with the "H" harness. theyre great, well worth the money. if i was in your position (and i was not too long ago! ds is 7mths now....he is in dds old convertible seat) i would get a maxi rider or something similar for the older child, and then a birth-18kg convertible for the baby.

    good luck with choosing!!
